"Caney
Mountain Horse Camp, Ozark Mountains, Arkansas.
Please see Past Rides
section for more information and photos of this
wonderful riding area."
"Trail Horses of the West
has had a remarkable ride for over ten years
now. Happy horse owners send e-mails almost
daily commenting on their wonderful horse
purchased here. Many lasting friendships have
been made throughout the years. What a great
business this has been! Thanks!!! It is now time
for me to ride and enjoy life!
Come Spring 2012, I will have three or four
personal horses up for sale. Just got more good
horses than can be ridden. These horses will not
be leftovers or rejects but the kind one hates
to part with. When the weather here in the
mountains of New Mexico begin to warm and the
snow melts, you can look for some of them to
appear on this website.
All the best to you in 2012, hope to see you
somewhere on the trail!
Thank you for viewing this website. Our operation and approach to selling trail and pleasure horses is unique, in the fact that we are right in the mountains and can ride our horses we offer for sale, right out of the ranch and onto hundreds of miles of trails. When our customers come to look at our horses we use these mountain trails as our “Large” evaluation and demonstration area! It would be easy to demonstrate our horses in an arena or on a small track but we feel customers needs to see a horse cross water, climb rocky steep trails as well as ride “off trail” or bushwack through the mountains! We encourage our customers to come and spend days riding and evaluating their potential new partner. For our customer’s convenience, we offer a modern guest cabin and if a horse is purchased we waive the nightly fee. The manner in which we prefer to work with customers is on consultative bases. The majority of our customers are referrals and repeats and Trail Horses Of The West is proud to say we have now sold over a thousand gaited pleasure horses in the last nine years. We are confident we can find you, the customer, the perfect, safe match!” The average age of our customers are between the ages of 45 and 70 and they desire a horse they can simply get on, ride, and enjoy! This is the business of Trail Horses of the West!
To truly understand the uniqueness of our operation, I would highly encourage you to read all parts of this website.
The “History and Breeds” section will tell you a great deal about me, the owner, and why only the gaited breeds are offered for sale to trail and pleasure horse riders.
The “Testimonial Letter” section should give you a good idea as to how are past customers feel about the horse or horses they have bought from Trail Horses of The West
The “Past Rides” section should help you understand what type of terrain our horses get exposed to.
You may also find a laugh in reading “Our
Stories!”
"The modern Guest Cabin is not only available for customers looking at buying horses but it is offered to the general public as a daily rental as well. Individuals may bring their own horses and ride the area for a nominal fee."
At Trail Horses of The WEST, we frequently ride the high country
of the Rocky Mountains
with the horses we have offered

Should you come visit our ranch you are welcomed and encouraged
to spend long hours, if not days, riding our horses in order to be
sure you have found the right companion.
One of the many benefits of this
business is making new friends and later riding with
them. Here is a photo of Shadow, Cowboy Red and
their owners, Linda and Mike Bayer of Amarillo,
Texas. Photo taken of our ride together on Hermit
Peak Trail, July 2009. Lookin' good all!
